It’s no secret that San Diego has become an escalating hub for entrepreneurs building startups at rapid speeds and producing innovative ideas straight out of our sandy streets and city offices.
San Diego Startup Week, going down June 13 to 17, seeks to celebrate these brains by bringing them together for a week-long series of events and panels around San Diego.
Entrepreneurs will rub shoulders with developers, mentors, speakers and community leaders to exchange ideas, resources and encouragement. It’s a meeting of the minds, if you will, with over 125 events spread throughout the five days.
How do you chose what to attend with so many options? Startup Week splits the events up by track, meaning that you can chose your own adventure depending on your interests. There’s the Idea Track, ideal for early-stage entrepreneurs and college students; the Growth Track, meant for startups ready to scale; the Developer Track connecting developers in the tech industry; the BrewTech Track for those interested in the craft beer scene; BioTech Track for anyone wanting to get involved in the biotechnology fields and a few more special interest options.
Each day will feature a diverse selection of speakers, demos, educational panels and networking opportunities for budding entrepreneurs and experienced business owners alike.
A few highlights on the schedule include:
- On Wednesday, June 15, the Startup Crawl will visit nine companies around downtown and Little Italy. Groups will venture from business to business, networking and enjoying food and drinks along the way. Stops include Cyberhive, Deskhub, TakeLessons, Underground Elephant and Zesty.
- On Thursday, June 16, Demo Night XIV will go down at the Broadway Port Pavilion. Seven local startups will demo their wares.
- On Friday, June 17, the San Diego Startup Festival will celebrate all the local startups at Quartyard, complete with community awards and a live concert, plus an after party to cap off the entire week.
Tickets to San Diego Startup Week cost $50 (early bird) or $75 regular. A student pass is $25. Find more information and the complete schedule at sandiegostartupweek.com.
