The San Diego Santa Run is set to sled through Pacific Beach

Gather your shiniest red Santa suit and scruffy white beard for a series of runs through Pacific Beach on Saturday, Dec. 9.

The San Diego Santa Run features a 5k fun run, a 1 mile run (open to pet owners and their dogs), a kids run and a competitive wave. Runners can compete individually or create a team with friends and family.

All participating runners in the 5k fun run will receive a “Sunny Santa suit” which includes a hat, short sleeve jacket, shorts, belt and beard while the 1-mile participants receive a free pair of official Santa Run sunglasses along with a drink ticket.

After the event, participants can stay to watch the annual Pacific Beach Holiday Parade, which takes place along Garnet Avenue.

Runners can pick up race packets on Thursday, Dec. 7 at Road Runner Sports, 5553 Copley Dr. in Kearny Mesa, on Friday, Dec. 8 at 875 Garnet Ave. in Pacific Beach or near the start line on race day at 8:30 a.m.

The San Diego Santa Run benefits the Pacific Beach Holiday Parade and partners with San Diego Food Bank in donating non-perishable items.
