Pup-friendly Pet Day on the Bay benefits orphan pets
Hornblower Cruises & Events is inviting canines and their owners to the popular Pet Day on the Bay on Saturday. The dog-loving one-hour tour is celebrating its 17th year of offering marine-lovers and canine-fanatics tail-wagging adventures around San Diego Bay.
Adoptable pets from the Helen Woodward Animal Center will be portside waving a paw as guests depart from the dock. Dogs must be on a leash, and only one canine companion per person is allowed. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the animal center.
Four one-hour tours run at 9:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. on Saturday. The cruise ships depart from Grape Street Pier, 1800 N. Harbor Drive, San Diego.
Cost for the event is $25 adults; $23 seniors and military; $12.50 children 4-12; children 3 and under are free. Dogs cruise free.
Donations of blankets or towels will be appreciated.
