Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to go all-in and trade those jerseys for jockeys; the
is coming to town. Here are two Southern soiree's celebrating the equestrian games near you.
Come out to barleymash on Saturday, May 2 for their Derby Party, bringing the races straight to downtown San Diego. The Derby-roused experience will immerse guests in Southern hospitality, enticing menu selections and live entertainment. For $25, you can enjoy their Kentucky Burgoo, hot brown sandwich and delectable mint julep. San Diego band The Tail Draggers will provide themed entertainment to keep you in spirit from 1-4 p.m. Not only will you get the all-in, high intensity action for the guys, but ladies will have a fun opportunity to dress in swanky Southern chic and enjoy the day in style. If you need a little inspiration, a "Best Dressed" and "Best Hat" competition will take place and be judged by some fashion-worthy folks too. Attendees also will have the opportunity to win prizes including a grand prize VIP Experience to the Del Mar Racetrack (four tickets for Opening Day, a special edition Derby bottle, and round-trip transportation to the track provided by Uber). All proceeds from the drawings will help the Wounded Warrior Homes for Charity.
