Local photographer brightens up ArtWalk Liberty Station.
From holding his father’s Minolta and Nikon film cameras as a child to having his own gallery in La Jolla with numerous accolades, San Diego native Evgeny Yorobe has taken the photography world by storm.
Celebrating the magnificence of the local topography, Yorobe is best known for his stunning landscape photography, which recently won Best of Show at the 2019 San Diego Festival of the Arts and will be exhibited at ArtWalk @ Liberty Station.
After learning the technical foundations of photography at UCSD, Yorobe was inspired to launch a career after teaching a friend the basics, and soon progressed to shooting weddings. He discovered his passion for incorporating the San Diego landscape into his images, and began working tirelessly to perfect his art.
Yorobe notes, “I wanted people’s jaws to drop, I wanted them to exclaim ‘Wow!’ every time they looked at one of my pictures.” Garnering thousands of fans on Facebook for his work, Yorobe began acquiring numerous recognitions, including magazine covers and features, and the First Place Blue Ribbon at the San Diego County Fair.
Displaying his two great loves, photography and San Diego, through his art, Yorobe brings enthusiasm and dedication to the ArtWalk festival. “By integrating movement, lines, lights and colors, I strive to share the beauty of San Diego with the world.”
