Diversionary Theatre gets set to stage the local premiere of Joshua Harmon comedy ‘Significant Other’
The work of the versatile playwright Joshua Harmon was last seen in town two years ago with the raw and funny “Bad Jews” at Cygnet Theatre.
Now, Diversionary stages Harmon’s first Broadway play, “Significant Other,” the story of a young New Yorker who’s watching his gal pals get married off and wondering if he’ll ever meet Mr. Right.
Anthony Methvin directs the 2017 piece for the LGBT-focused theater; his cast includes Jamie Criss, Andréa Agosto, Tom Zohar, Megan Carmitchel, Bryan Banville, Dagmar Krause Fields and Wil Bethmann.
The show closes Diversionary’s 33rd season; next up is the third annual Spark Festival of new plays, running June 13-15 in the theater’s Black Box space.
