7 ‘Game of Thrones’ events in San Diego to celebrate the season finale

Five hotly debated episodes into its eighth season, the series finale of HBO’s hugely popular “Game of Thrones” is finally here.

Who will sit on the Iron Throne? Who will live? Who (else) will die? No spoilers here. We’ll all find out soon enough.

The epic saga created by “A Song of Ice And Fire” series author George R. R. Martin and TV showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss concludes Sunday night, and its legions of dedicated fans will gather all over the world to see what happens in the final 80 minutes, including right here in San Diego County. In a way, the show has its own special tie to San Diego with numerous cast and crew appearances at Comic-Con over the years.

So it’s fitting that local fans will be able to cosplay and fan out at events in the area for the final episode of “Game of Thrones.” Here’s a look at some of the options for celebrating the series finale in style. Seven Kingdoms? Here are seven ways to celebrate on Sunday.

207

Hard Rock Hotel’s 207 bar and lounge will show the series finale with themed cocktails with the party starting at 8 p.m. and the streaming beginning at 9 p.m. Click here for details.

The Observatory North Park

Cosplay is encouraged at this gathering which includes a costume contest with prizes, prediction and bingo games, themed food and drinks and other activities. RSVPs are required, so click here for details.

4 p.m. on Sunday at 2891 University Avenue.

619 Spirits

This viewing party will start with the previous week’s episode at 4:30 p.m. and follow with the series finale and complimentary popcorn and drink specials. Then, 619 Spirits will show the finale a second time in case you miss the first showing. Click here for details.

Charlie & Echo

This is a pre-screening event with ‘Game of Thrones’ trivia, prizes and Charlie & Echo wine. Click here for details.

2 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday at 8680 Miralani Dr. #112.

102 Hub

This costume contest includes a throne trophy and other prizes. 102 Hub will also have official “For The Throne” beer from Brewery Ommegang and HBO. Click here for details.

Maverick’s Beach Club

Continuing its weekly tradition, Maverick’s Beach Club will show the series finale on televisions throughout the venue. Click here for details.

CorePower Yoga

We’re not sure what this will even look like, but CorePower Yoga is hosting “Game of Thrones”-themed hot yoga ahead of the big finale episode. Click here for details.
