Celebrate the Star Wars Holiday — May the Fourth Be With You — with these San Diego events, featuring themed beer, music, arcade games and more.
Star Wars brew collab
2Kids Brewing Co. and Intergalactic Brewing Company are teaming up for a beer-centric Star Wars Day Party. Aside from plenty of out-of-this-world brews — including new releases — snack on bites from The Good Seed Food Company and browse Thumbprint Gallery’s Star Wars art. Plus, cheer on the San Diego Sabers during the Lightsaber Combat Training Group’s tournament.

Moonlight music and movie screening
Take a visit to The Moonlight Stage in Vista to awaken the senses. The evening will kick off with a concert from The Millennial Falcons the band who promise to “bring the Space Age to life.” Following the tunes, settle in for a screening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on the big screen. Bring a picnic or try out the on-site restaurant and concessions stands. Lawn seating tickets are $10 or reserve a seat near the stage for $15.

Oceanside Jazz Festival
Fans can pretend they’re at the Mos Eisley Cantina at the Oceanside Jazz Festival. This year’s 13th annual music festival lands on the May 4 holiday so the saga influences the evening. Featured guest Francisco Torres will perform a community concert featuring Star Wars-themed jazz with MOJO and the Jazz Collective. Tickets are $15-$20 and available online, by phone or at the box office.

Science Fiction Coalition celebration
Get dressed up and grab a bite with other dedicated fans while indulging in all things Sci-Fi. Science Fiction Coalition invites the public to Pampas Argentine Grill for its third annual Star Wars celebration. Observe the festive attire as well as an art exhibit featuring themed memorabilia. New this year: Pampa’s Tango dancers will perform their weekly Saturday night show in costume.

#MayTheForks dining experience
The Melting Pot presents #MayTheForks featuring a special menu. While waiting for the first course from Darth waiters, play some trivia or search for themed items with prizes hidden throughout the fondue restaurant. Photos of customers in costumes posted on Melting Pot’s Facebook thread will be entered into a contest. Reservations are required and limited to two hours.

Free game play at Coin Haus
What’s better than playing arcade games on May 4? Playing at no cost while enjoying a beer or two. Duel with friends at Coin Haus — a dual self-pour beer venue/video arcade — which features free games for the holiday including Star Wars Trilogy Video Arcade Game. The original trilogy will be screened on the TVs all day while gamers battle in Pac-Man, Mortal Kombat, Foosball, Game of Thrones Pinball and more.

Star Wars Paint & Sip
Celebrate the far, far away galaxy by creating an original piece of Star Wars art at the next Paint & Sip event. Paint “laser swords and moon-like space stations” while humming with the soundtrack and participating in a trivia challenge. Outside food is welcome, but all alcohol must be bought at the bar. Tickets are $35 and include a canvas, painting supplies and artist instructions.

Diego Tattoo flash event
Diego Tattoo Gallery is offering Star Wars tattoos to commemorate the movies far beyond May 4. Get inked with a favorite character from the franchise, or others like Star Trek, Game of Thrones, Dr. Who or Futurama. Hocus and Kitty Plague at Bar Pink
Take a trip to the dark side at Bar Pink, featuring grungy sounds from alternative band Hocus and rock group Kitty Plague. Self-proclaimed “dangerous band” Hocus is characterized by loud instruments and high energy, while Kitty Plague is billed as the “silliest, nerdiest science fiction band.” The show is free and drinks are cash only. Costume contests, raffles and prizes will accompany the concert.

4 Mile Challenge
Though participating in a pod race is unrealistic, fans can Skywalk (or run) the virtual four-mile challenge hosted by Moon Joggers. Sign up for $20, choose a route anywhere in the county and submit the final time online. All participants will receive a glow-in-the-dark medal featuring Yoda’s wise words: “In a dark place we find ourselves, and a little more knowledge lights our way.”

Haze Solo on tap
Skip the blue milk and drink a beer at Belching Beaver Co. For the holiday, the San Diego brewery will pour its seasonal Haze Solo IPA, which it describes as “100 percent Galaxy hops, super juicy with flavors of white wine and citrus.” The IPA will be served all day at all locations for beer nerds to have a #DamGoodTime, Star Wars style.
