Little Italy festival attracts artists and art lovers from across the globe this weekend
Mission Federal ArtWalk, San Diego’s annual weekend-long arts and culture festival, attracts thousands of attendees — an estimated 120,000 locals and visitors — and takes over 16 blocks in the Little Italy neighborhood. In addition to more than 350 local, national and international artists and creators selling directly to customers, the family-friendly festival, now in its 35th year, is rich in live music, dance performances, interactive art experiences for all ages, and street food for all tastes. Unique this year is an auction of 35 surfboards that have been rescued and repurposed into original artworks — check these out online, now, and at the Piazza della Famiglia during the event. Auction proceeds are designated for local visual arts education nonprofit, ArtReach.
Mission Federal ArtWalk: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Little Italy neighborhood, centered at India Street, between Ash and Grape streets. Free admission. artwalksandiego.org
