Tap into your inner scientist with Taste of Science festival
Ever been curious about the science behind attraction, the composition of DNA or what it takes to survive a zombie apocalypse? Peek into the minds of local scientists as they tackle such pressing issues — all while drinking a beer or sitting at a park during the 2018 Taste of Science festival.
The Fleet Science Center along with Scientists, Inc. are the two organizations behind the six-part informative and accessible science-centric series taking place from April 22-28.
While there are plenty of science events for youth, there are fewer opportunities for adults who are just as curious about scientific wonders. It might feel intimidating for some to attend a conference or academic event with professionals, so this event seeks to welcome adults of all backgrounds to learn about science.
At each day’s event, local researchers, scientists and experts will present information in their respective fields at public, casual spaces such as cafes, bars, museums and parks. Taste of Science currently takes place in 16 other major cities including San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Boston and Tampa.
Tickets are available online; general admission is $5 and premium tickets, which include a taste of science pint glass, are $8. Locations and time vary.
