“Serial” podcast creators stopping by San Diego
Ever wonder what makes something binge-worthy? The co-creators of the hit podcast “Serial” will take over Balboa Theatre to discuss just that on Wednesday, March 2 at 7 p.m.
“Serial” has been a wildly popular podcast since its 2014 release, with over five million downloads to date on iTunes. The series focuses on just one legal case at a time, with the first season investigating the 1999 murder of Hae Min Lee and the second season, currently airing, looking into the complicated story of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.
The evening talk with host Sarah Koenig and Julie Snyder will discuss the creation of the successful series, including behind the scenes stories, why certain episodes were formatted specific ways and a more in depth look at this modern-form of journalism.
Tickets are $15-70. For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit sandiegotheatres.org.
Balboa Theatre, 868 Fourth Ave., downtown.
