Sculpture & Cocktails takes on Balboa Park
The popular museum party Culture & Cocktails, which pairs art exhibits with quality cocktails, returns with a new twist on Thursday, Feb. 18. The Sculpture & Cocktails event offers attendees an opportunity to explore the Art of the Open Air exhibit in Plaza de Panama at Balboa Park, all while enjoying quality food and beverages along the way.
The Art of the Open Air event will showcase some of the museum’s most popular and significant pieces of art in the beautiful, outdoor plaza. The event was prompted by a campaign, called #FreeTheArt, a community crowd-funding effort. The mass effort and push for the outdoor exhibit succeeded and has allowed the creative and unique outdoor exhibit to come to life in Balboa Park.
Sculptures &Cocktails aims to honor sculpture art and the art of a crafting a quality cocktail. Liquor will be provided by Kill Devil Spirits, a local spirit company based here in San Diego. There will also be snacks and treats to indulge in throughout the evening from Quad Alehouse. Once you’re all fed and cocktail’d up, hit the dance floor for some fun in the garden party space.
Tickets are $35 for non-members. This event is 21-and-up.
