San Diego’s first Film Week is coming
While you might be familiar with San Diego’s many diverse film festivals throughout the year, this Film Week, held at the Museum of Photographic Arts in Balboa Park, is a brand new, weeklong event.
From Feb. 10-19, the Film Consortium hosts this series of workshops and screenings of locally produced films. The week, in essence, showcases the best of our local film festivals, including the Latino Film Festival, Asian Film Festival, GI Film Festival and Horrible Imaginings Film Festival.
Other Film Week events include a live announcement of the 2017 San Diego Film Award nominees, a professional workshop for filmmakers that covers funding, distribution, SAG and Final Cut Pro and networking events to meet the local stars.
The opening night gala at The Lafayette Hotel takes place on Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. and will be hosted by actors Laura Bohlin and Chris Szabo. An “Old Hollywood” theme will kick off the fest with a live streamed red carpet walked by prominent members of the San Diego film community.
