MCASD's '25 and Under Art Contest' returns

Calling all young and talented artists! The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego is currently seeking submissions for their "25 and Under Art Contest." This year, the theme is "Our City, Our Time," celebrating San Diego's unique location and cultural mix of residents. All entries must be submitted by Friday, May 8 at 11:59 p.m.

A panel of judges from the museum will determine their 25 favorite works to be featured on the Museum's Facebook page. Then, the public will have the chance to vote online from May 25-29.

The grand showcase event will take place at MCASD downtown on Saturday, June 6 from 1 to 3 p.m. At the showcase, they'll announce the overall winner based on public votes.

From the 25 entries, four winners will be selected in two categories: Curator's Choice (first place and honorable mention), which are selected by an MCASD curator, and People's Choice (first place and honorable mention), both of which are chosen based on Facebook "likes" and on-site votes at the showcase event.

The Curator's Choice winner will take home a $500 gift certificate to Blick Art Materials, a year-long MCASD X Membership and a curator-led tour of the exhibition of choice. The three other winners will score a $100 gift certificate to Blick Art Materials and a year-long e-Membership to the Museum.
