Little Italy FESTA! to throw one big Italian party
CIAO! The FESTA! cultural celebration is set to take-over Little Italy from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11, thanks to their new partnership with Sicilian Festival.
The event aims to celebrate Italian culture in the heart of the Little Italy neighborhood with authentic cuisine, a motorsports show, Italian chalk art, live entertainment and a bocce ball tournament.
The Sicilian Festival, which was the first festival of its kind in Little Italy, will no longer be its own entity each summer due to the new merge - but it’s certainly for the best, according to Executive Director of the Sicilian Festival, Bernadette Tarantino.
“Now we will be able to work closely wth the Little Italy Association to acknowledge our culture even more by uniting the two festivals together - bringing even more visitors to our Little Italy neighborhood,” said Tarantino in a press release.
The unique community of Little Italy will be brought to life through this free, significant cultural festival which gives locals the opportunity to experience Italy, right here in San Diego.
