Coachella as fashion statement? Sephora says ‘yes’
INDIO - The official beauty sponsor of the 2015 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, Sephora cosmetics has made its second appearance in a row at the festival.
“It’s all meant to be interactive,” said Blakely Vaughn, public relations specialist for Sephora. “Coachella is now a fashion statement, and who doesn’t need a touch-up during the day?”
Coachella festival-goers can take a journey through the multiple stations that are on site in the an air-conditioned tent and learn beauty tips along the way.
Start in the center of the tent, where makeup experts are on hand to give tips on contouring and applying tattoo art and share the secret to creating the perfect ombré lip.
Next you might visit the southeast corner of the tent and relax on the couches while you treat yourself to a fiber facial mask; choose from exfoliating or hydrating masks specially formulated for any skin type.
After your facial, you’re ready for a professional photo experience with L.A.-based photography and marketing company mirmir, who has worked with celebrities like Beyonce and Jay Z, among others. The company’s unique software removes all blemishes and wrinkles and allows users to choose the photos they want to keep afterward.
The final stop on your Sephora Collection tent journey: the “Surprise Vending Machines” that run parallel to the central beauty bar.
This photo op, while it doesn’t come with a Beyonce and Jay Z association, requires a few simple steps before participants are awarded with a special Sephora gift. Post a photo with the hashtag #sephoracoachella. Then combine the unique code you recieve along with your hashtag to qualify for a fun gift.
Everyone who participates with the hashtag through social media will receive a full-size beauty product as a gift and participants can return every day for a new item while supplies last.
San Diego native Monica Gastelum, 23, posted a selfie at the vending station with Tijuana native and friend Raquel Matsuo, 20, in the Sephora tent after the two visited the lipstick and contouring stations.
“It’s been really fun so far,” Gastelum said. She and Matsuo made their way over to the Sephora tent after attending Vic Mensa’s show.
