Cinema Under the Stars brings big blockbusters

The heated patio with comfortable lounge chairs is unbeatable, and the film lineup is just as good. Upcoming films include “Steve Jobs,” “Spotlight” and “The Big Short.” (Sean M. Haffey)

Cinema Under The Stars, the unique Mission Hills outdoor movie venue, continues on through our not-so-harsh San Diego winter with bigger-than-ever movies coming to the screen this February and March.

The cinema, located next to The Patio on Goldfinch, is set under a weatherproof and waterproof cover, just in case of rain. They offer the warmth of heaters and blankets at each personal seat throughout the venue to ensure maximum comfort while enjoying the great outdoors.

Tickets are $16 at the box office and $18 for online reservations. Box office purchases can be made with cash or check only. Popcorn, treats and beverages will be available to snack on for $2 per item.

Typically, the series provides everything from new films to classics like “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” and “Pretty Woman.” This season is boasting some huge blockbusters not to be missed.
