Art San Diego returns to Balboa Park on Nov. 5
The art scene in San Diego is nothing short of inspiring and has only been on the up-and-up, due in part to local programs that strengthen the community, like Art San Diego.
Art San Diego is a contemporary art showcase that features a large display of international fine-art paired with complimentary live music and entertainment. This year, the show will take place in the heart of Balboa Park over the course of four days, from Nov. 5-8.
The event boasts a juried art show highlighting various artists and galleries from across the world. The art on display will include paintings, photography, glass-work and sculptures from top studio artists, publishers and galleries.
The theme for 2015’s showcase is “Meta.Morphosis,” which aims to explore how San Diego’s distinctive landscape has evolved over the years. Participating programs on the bill are the Launchpad Program and Art Labs. There is also a Spotlight Artist Program featuring focused, solo-exhibitions from selected artists who base their work around the event’s theme.
Attendees can expect to see a very San-Diego centric, cutting-edge art experience that you won’t want to miss out on.
Opening VIP night is on Thursday, Nov. 5 from 7 to 9 p.m. Weekend showcases will take place on Nov. 6 and 7 from 12 to 8 p.m. and on Nov. 8 from 12 to 5 p.m.
Tickets are $75 for VIP opening night; $25 for 3-day-admission; $20 for 1-day-admission and free for children 15-and-under. To purchase tickets, visit eventbrite.com.
