Art Around Adams takes over Normal Heights
In its 14th year, Art Around Adams is returning to deliver two miles of visual and performing arts to Normal Heights and Kensington.
On Saturday, June 3, more than 200 artists and performers will gather from Hamilton Street in Normal Heights to Vista Street in Kensington to excite guests with an abundance of creativity. Along the way, local businesses will also transform into art galleries and performance areas.
This free event will showcase local and international artists, including Abelardo Rodriguez, Jessica oh! and the Iraqi Culture and Art Association. Attendees can also expect to be wowed by intergalactic superhero wrestling, live fencing and performances by The Bassmint Collective, Gregory Page and The Phantoms.
Multiple kids zones of face painting, music workshops and doughnut artistry will also be present, as well as a complimentary comedy trolley to shuttle guests along Adams Avenue.
This year, proceeds from Art Around Adams will benefit the 1 Million 4 Anna Foundation, an organization that brings awareness to the bone and soft tissue cancer, Ewing’s Sarcoma.
The event is from noon to 8 p.m., and the information booth will be located on the corner of Adams Avenue and Mansfield Street.
