Bellamy’s introduces fall flavors to the menu

Get ready to savor the flavors of fall at Bellamy’s, as prepared by Executive Chef Jonathan Freyberg.

“Chef Jonny wanted to offer the guests things that he loves,” said Kristina Miller, Manager at Bellamy’s. “We want to offer a more diverse menu with all different types of cuisine, such as Spanish, Mediterranean and French, while bringing all the amazing flavors of the fall season.”

Start your meal with the flavor-packed yellowtail crudo with jalapeno, cilantro and grapefruit. Then move on to the steak tartare, which is served with cornichons and Dijon mustard. The Moulard duck breast is complemented by pumpkin-squash puree, braised endive and orange glaze. Cornish hen and squash gnocchi perfectly capture the flavors of fall with baby carrots and sage-hen pan jus. Miller said it “brings all the comfort you want in fall.” For dessert, indulge in a pumpkin cheesecake with caramelized persimmon or an apple tart with salted caramel ice cream.

Over the past four years, Bellamy’s has earned a reputation as the premier place for French-inspired fine dining in not just Escondido, but perhaps all of North County. Led by French Master Chef Patrick Ponsaty, the restaurant has become known for its modern take on traditional French cooking and impeccable service. Some long-time favorite dishes, like the mountain meadow mushroom ravioli and Ponsaty’s seafood paella, are still available on the fall menu.

Freyberg has worked alongside Ponsaty for over eight years and is relishing the chance to share these new seasonal items with guests.

“If Chef Jonny is not out saying hello to all of his guests, you’ll find him on the line doing what he loves and ensuring perfection is delivered,” Miller said. “He’s making his mark by delivering his love and passion to each and every dish.”

Bellamy’s happy hour is a great time to sample the new fall menu. Happy hour is Monday through Saturday, from 3 to 6 p.m., when guests receive 50-percent off bar appetizers and drink specials. On “Wine Wednesdays,” select bottles of wine are also 50 percent off all day.

Guests are also invited to make their Thanksgiving plans at Bellamy’s. Freyberg is preparing a special Thanksgiving Brunch menu along with hand-selected wines.
