Kesha announces 2018 joint tour with Macklemore (minus Ryan Lewis)
Get ready for “The Adventures of Kesha and Macklemore.”
If that name suggests an upcoming Saturday morning kid’s TV show or a new music-fueled amusement park attraction, guess again.
Pop singer Kesha and rapper Macklemore are teaming up for a 2018 summer tour, apparently minus Macklemore’s longtime musical partner, Ryan Lewis.
The nine-week North American concert trek begins June 6 in Phoenix and concludes Aug. 5 in Tampa. Three California cities are included in the itinerary — Chula Vista’s Mattress Firm Amphitheatre on June 12, Mountain View’s Shoreline Amphitheatre on June 14 and Los Angeles’ The Forum on June 8.
All tour dates and ticket information appear below.
This will mark Kesha’s first San Diego show since her September performance at the KAABOO Del Mar festival. She also performed in July at the 2016 edition of San Diego Pride, the annual LGBT celebration at Marston Point in Balboa Park.
Kesha and Macklemore performed a song together earlier this month at a concert in Los Angeles that appears to have served as an unofficial prelude to their upcoming tour.
One dollar from each ticket sold for “The Adventures of Kesha and Macklemore” tour will be donated to charity.
Kesha will donate her proceeds to RAINN (Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network), the largest anti-sexual assault organization in the U.S.
Macklemore will donate his proceeds to M Plus1, an organization that advances racial and social justice through the M&RL Equity Fund.
Tickets for the tour go on sale Friday at ticketmaster.com and livenation.com. A pre-sale for Citi card holders begins Wednesday, followed by an array of other online pre-sales..
Tickets for Kesha and Macklemore’s June 12 Mattress Firm Amphitheatre concerts are price from $30.50 to $126 each, plus service charges.
