San Diego: This Weekend (May 25-29)

There's a whole lot going on to wrap up May, including the Vista Strawberry Festival, LED, Horizon Carnival and other Memorial Day Weekend activities. 5.26: Paul Van Dyk The legendary German DJ (real name Matthias Paul) won a Grammy Award in 2008 for his work on the film "The Dark Knight." The 20-plus-year veteran's last full-length album, "The Politics of Dancing 3," was released in 2015. Read PACIFIC's recent interview with the DJ here. House of Blues, downtown,   5.26: Hardwell Dutch electro-house DJ Robbert van de Corput (aka Hardwell) released his debut album, "United We Are," in 2015. Although a specific date hasn't been set, the two-time winner of DJ Mag's "World's No. 1 DJ" has released a few singles from his forthcoming sophomore effort. OMNIA, downtown,   5.27: Sing, Dance, Crawl Red, white, blue and hopefully a lot of brews during this patriotic themed party that takes guests to multiple venues around the Gaslamp. The Local Eatery & Drinking Hole, downtown, 5.27: Horizon Carnival Equipped with a Ferris Wheel, performers and carnival games, the day is destined to take guests back to their youth. Port Pavilion/Broadway Pier, downtown,   5.27: Stafford Brothers The Australian-born, L.A.-based DJ siblings have released singles featuring Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Christina Milian, T.I. and others over the years. Their latest, "Coventry Carol," doesn't feature a guest and was released at the end of last year. Parq, downtown,   5.27: Zeds Dead You can always see the Canadian electro house duo of DC and Hooks at Valley View Casino Center's big blowout later that night, but why not catch them in the sunlight while drinking a craft brew? Quartyard, East Village,   5.27 Lafayette Hotel Summer Kickoff Party   North Park is making a big splash with the launch of the Lafayette's summer pool parties at the iconic Weissmuller Pool. Poolside entertainment on Saturday includes Kim & The Created, The Schizophonics, mermaids and more.  The Lafayette Hotel, North Park,   5.27: Breathe Carolina The Denver-based electro-trio released their latest EPs, "Sleepless" and "Oh So Hard," last year, and has followed them with a pair of singles, including "Can't Take It" with Bassjackers, so far in 2017. Bassmnt, downtown,   5.27 9th Annual All White Cruise: A Tribute to Cuba Pay tribute to Cuba while wearing your brightest whites aboard this lavish three-hour harbor cruise offering three floors of music, five fully stocked bars and a cigar lounge on the yacht's sprawling outdoor deck. San Diego Harbor, downtown,   5.27-29 Memorial Day Weekend parties There's a lot of fun to be had during this weekend's holiday parties including pool parties, a Rum & Tiki Fest, and, of course, honoring our service members during Legacy Week at the USS Midway. Various locations   5.27-28: LED The two-night, 18+, Memorial Day weekend extravaganza features headliners Zeds Dead and Tchami with support from DVBBS, Destructo, Louis The Child and many more. Valley View Casino Center, Midway District,   5.28 Vista Strawberry Festival Formerly hailed as the Strawberry Capital of the World, Vista's affinity for the florid fruit lives on during this celebration chock full of live entertainment, local craft brews and a cornucopia of contests. Main Street, Vista,   5.28: Oliver Heldens The 22-year-old Dutch DJ, who also has performed recently as HI-LO, released a new single, "I Don't Wanna Go Home" - as well three new remixes of the track - earlier this year. OMNIA, downtown,   5.30: Modest Mouse  Isaac Brock continues to lead this nearly 25-year-old indie rock outfit with original drummer Jeremiah Green still in tow as well. The band last released an album, "Strangers to Ourselves," in 2015. Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre, San Diego State University,   Padres home games 5.29-5.31 vs. Chicago Cubs More...
