New Ways to Access Hillcrest

Make your next evening uptown even more fabulous than ever with these cool new ways to Access Hillcrest for free.


Take advantage of free parking evenings and weekends at the huge, well-lit DMV parking lot at 3900 Normal St., 92103.


Get on. Get off. Repeat - for free! The free Park Hillcrest Trolley makes stops up and down University Ave. Friday and Saturday evenings (5-11 p.m.), Sundays (9 a.m.-2 p.m.) and weekdays along the Lunch Loop (11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.).


On Friday nights (Oct. 2 - Dec. 18), Pacific magazine is giving trolley riders gift certificates to Hillcrest restaurants and other goodies - for free! Giveaways for Friday, October 23, include certificates for 20% off drinks at Uptown Tavern, 25% off drinks at The Brew Project, $5 off Brazen BBQ tabs (of $25 or more) and free portobello fries with purchase at Fig Tree Café.

Hillcrest’s Parking Fairy is handing out gift certificates (to top Hillcrest restaurants, bars and merchants) to Park Hillcrest trolley riders on Friday nights from October 2 through December 18. Not everyone will win gift certificates, but a lot of people will, and they will sure be happy. No purchase necessary or even possible, seeing as how it’s all free. From 5:00 - 11:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, parking at the uptown DMV is free, and the free trolley takes free-spirited folks all over town.
