Good Time Design is excited to announce the arrival of Moonshine Beach, the only major live music entertainment venue in Pacific Beach, and sister concept to Moonshine Flats in East Village. The dual concept project, housed in the 20,000 square-foot space formerly occupied by Typhoon Saloon and Fred’s Mexican Café, includes the adjacent Mexican eatery and cantina called Cerveza Jack’s, which opened in March. Moonshine Beach serves up a Southern Gulf coast hospitality feel, mixing country attitude with Pacific Beach’s easygoing vibe and will have live music on weekends, featuring today’s best, young and high-energy country acts. The summer concert lineup includes Billboard chart-toppers Chase Bryant (June 5), John Pardi (June 30), Russell Dickerson (July 11), Cassadee Pope (August 4), Kellie Pickler (September 23) and Granger Smith (September 30).
“Expanding the Moonshine concept into Pacific Beach is an exciting next step for the brand and for Good Time Design. The response from the community, as well as major record labels and national touring artists alike, has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Ty Hauter, owner and operator of Good Time Design. “Showcasing rising country acts from Nashville and introducing them to new audiences allows us to cultivate and grow country music in the San Diego market like no venue has done before.”
Guests enter Moonshine Beach through an outdoor patio, which connects to the neighboring Cerveza Jack’s, and features a large American flag and a motorcycle embracing the “Live Free Rock Hard” spirit. Upon entering the concert venue and bar, which accommodates 1,200 party-goers, guests are greeted by a large dance floor, San Diego’s largest stage and three bars throughout. In addition to live music, the nightly entertainment includes line dancing lessons, two old school barber “shot” chairs, arcade games and more.
The honky-tonk Americana vibe can be seen throughout with additional design elements that include large neon signs, American flags, Jim Beam barrels, bathroom stalls with life-size images of the most desirable rock legends and American bad boys, and a painted, wall-sized Flora-bama logo, an ode to the South’s most legendary beachfront bar.
Moonshine Beach guests will be able to move between the concert venue, the adjoining patio and Cerveza Jack’s, where partiers can order food, including both authentic Mexican cuisine and twists on modern street food. The bar at Moonshine Beach will serve classic cocktails with a beachy, country twist, including the Cool Aid crafted with Light Rum, Blue Chair Coconut Rum and tropical juice and the Outlaw Mule made with Jim Beam, Rasberry Liqueur and Ginger Beer.
Moonshine Beach is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays with a DJ format from 7 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. and will have live bands every Friday and Saturday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Line dancing lessons will be offered nightly. For concert tickets, please visit, https://moonshinebeachsd.uvtix.com.
