Hilary Clinton stopped by Balboa Park to deliver a speech
Donald Trump was here in San Diego last week, causing a flurry of protests, signs of support and chaos in the streets of downtown. Hilary’s speech on Thursday, June 2 proved to have a much less controversial effect with fewer protesters and no violence. She addressed why Trump’s foreign policy plan is a threat to our national security in her speech.
Opening day of the San Diego Fair is today!
Yep, the good ol’ fair is back in town! This year’s theme “Alice in Wonderland” will translate to the rides and décor seen around the Del Mar Fairgrounds. There will be several new rides, and plenty of fair foodie favorites like the Kool-Aid Hot Wings and Chicken and Waffles on a stick. Catch tonight’s show at the fair, featuring local band Switchfoot. Today is also National Donut Day
Working across the street from Donut Bar does have its perks, like quick access to a sweet treat on the daily. Today we saw a line wrapped around the corner of the downtown hot spot for National Donut Day, a holiday we are happy to celebrate today and pretty much every other day, too. Ballast Point announces their plans for a Virginia brewery
Ballast Point has just begun to venture out of San Diego County with their two newest locations in Temecula and Long Beach. The brewery will now expand across the nation to establish an East Coast facility located in Virginia. The endeavor is expected to employ around 180 jobs in the area. Last year, Ballast Point was acquired for $1 billion by Constellation Brands and has since been pumping out brews with new bottle releases, the newest being 2016’s Barmy in a Bottle.
Summer is here, and so are the fests
Memorial Day on Monday marked the official start of summer and here in San Diego, that means there are many, many festivals to attend. From Art Around Adams, Brew and Food Fest, Craft Beer + Bites and the Beer and Sake Festival, there’s a lot to do and much fun to be had.
