Liberty Public Market Opens
The two-year project in the heart of Liberty Station has finally opened it’s doors. The marketplace hosts 30 different vendors in a 25,000 square-foot center. The market is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. libertypublicmarket.com
Bernie Sanders rally stops by San Diego
Over 10,000 San Diegans gathered at the San Diego Convention Center to rally in support #FeelTheBern campaign. The presidential candidate spoke on topics of income equality, free college tuition, marijuana regulations, immigration reform and raising the minimum wage.
Kia Classic returns to Carlsbad
One of the largest LPGA tournaments is in San Diego currently, through Sunday, March 27. The tournament has golfers competing for a $1.7 million purse and a brand new Kia Vehicle at the Aviara Golf Club in Carlsbad. Giant, dead whale washes ashore on Torrey Pines State Beach
A 28-foot, yes, 28-foot gray whale was found on the shores of Torrey Pines State Beach, likely killed after being hit by a ship. The animal was moved via forklift and its carcass has been taken to a local landfill. The San Diego Natural History Museum is hoping to gather the animal’s skeleton for it’s sea collection.
KAABOO reveals their full comedy lineup
We have been looking forward to KAABOO since it ended last September. While we have yet to receive the coveted music lineup, we do have the next best thing. The official comedy lineup includes: The Cast of “Silicon Valley,” Dana Carvey, David Cross, Jeff Ross, Darrell Hammond, Garfunkel & Oates, Janeane Garofalo, Natasha Leggero, Brian Poeshn, Puddles Pity Party and Taylor Williamson (a native of Del Mar.) The festival has also announced that air conditioning, which was absent from last year’s fest, is a top priority to making a comfortable, more relaxed environment to LOL in.
