New traveling music series set to rock Port Pavilion

For a music experience like no other this summer, look to the Horizon. The Horizon Summer Music Series, put on by Five Group and Social Marketing Group, is a traveling music series that takes attendees to the city, beach and desert. The “city” installment kicks off in San Diego on July 3 at the Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier, benefiting Urban Angels. The “beach” and “desert” installments will be held in Newport Beach and Palm Springs later in the summer.

The Horizon series is designed to integrate and elevate the natural surroundings of each venue. Instead of an LED light show, the Port Pavilion stage will feature a nature-focused flower installation. Other elements are designed to heighten attendees’ experience of the location, which uniquely captures an urban environment surrounded by the ocean.

Standout DJs Illenium and Elephante are headlining the city installment. They will be joined by local artists including Waistline, Common Dream, DJ Byrd and Tantrum. Over the course of the installment, each artist’s unique style will create a truly captivating experience.

Beyond the music, the event also will feature Devilicious and Moto Deli food trucks, several full bars, installments from local artists and Horizon swag and merchandise available for purchase. VIP packages are also available for groups and include entry plus a private table along the pier with bottle service.

For the San Diego installment, Five Group is partnering with Urban Angels, a nonprofit dedicated to helping feed the homeless in San Diego. Urban Angels runs the kitchen at Connections Housing downtown and assists with feeding services at The Salvation Army. Five Group has worked with Urban Angels on other projects and events, but “Horizon City” will be their biggest event to date. Learn more about Urban Angels at

After the city, the Horizon series continues to the beach, with two experiences on July 17 and August 21 at the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort in Newport Beach, and finally to the desert, with a full weekend experience at the J.W. Marriott Resort Springs & Desert Spa in Palm Springs on August 5-7.

General admission tickets for the Horizon City installment are $25, but the price will increase to $40 closer to the event date. Attendees also can purchase a transportation package from $35-40, which includes one general admission ticket and roundtrip bus transportation from designated spots throughout the county.

Tickets for all the Horizon installments can be purchased online at For VIP packages, email or call (844) 411-3483.
