San Diego is still recovering on Monday after high winds caused power outages and damages throughout the county.
Nothing, however, compares to the tragic loss of local musician, dancer and artist Nicki Carano.
On her way to a gig at Winstons in Ocean Beach, Carano, 48, was fatally injured in Pacific Beach when an 80-foot tree fell on her car while driving on Ingraham Street.

Calling the incident “unimaginable,” San Diego Fire-Rescue Department Capt. Joe Amador told the Los Angeles Times, “Our thoughts and hearts are with the family. We’re in the life-saving business and it’s hard when it doesn’t turn out that way.”
Beloved in the community, tributes poured in on social media for the instructor at Nightingale Music School in La Jolla.
