Brian Malarkey has been hiding something.
Well, at least that’s what it feels like driving through the gargantuan business park past Scripps and Qualcomm buildings to find Green Acre Campus Pointe - Malarkey’s organic eatery and garden oasis with wide-open views of Sorrento Valley from its blufftop perch.
Green Acre is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday with additional catering services available.
And for his next act...
Construction is underway on Brian Malarkey’s next venture, a wood-fired grill and market called Eatery Green, slated to open this fall on the same block as fellow “Top Chef” alum Richard Blais’ Juniper & Ivy and The Crack Shack, incoming later this year. The question is, will Malarkey’s refreshingly straightforward approach at Green Acre carry over to Eatery Green - another project apart from Enlightened Hospitality? At least for me, a stripped down version of the notoriously flashy chef sounds mega-tasty - especially after my trip to the fuss-free Green Acre.
