Day of the Dead goes live at the Old Globe Theatre with free celebration on Sunday

Event in Copley Plaza is part of Balboa Park institution’s ‘AXIS’ outreach program
The Old Globe Theatre marks Día de los Muertos on Sunday with a free, family-minded event that includes arts-and-crafts stations, face painting, a drumming workshop and a mini-parade.
And at noon comes a Spanish-language performance of the Day of the Dead-themed play “Hermanas (Sisters),” written by the San Diego-based theater artist Daniel Jáquez; the performance will be repeated in English at 1 p.m.
The events are all part of the Globe’s “Axis” outreach program, which offers free cultural events for the community.
