Maroon 5 to open 2020 North American tour in San Diego. Here are all the dates and ticket info
Meghan Trainor will open all the shows on the 41-date tour, while Leon Bridges will be added for the stadium shows
Maroon 5 may or may not move like Mick Jagger, but the Los Angeles-based band will be in near-constant motion for at least several months next year.
The group, led by lead singer and former “The Voice” TV show judge Adam Levine, will kick off its 2020 North American amphitheater and stadium tour May 30 at North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, just south of San Diego.
The 41-show itinerary stretches through mid-September and includes stadium shows in Chicago (June 13 at Wrigley Field), Boston (June 24 at Fenway Park), New York (June 25 at Citi Field), Los Angeles (Aug. 21 at Banc of California Stadium) and Pennsylvania (Sept. 5 at Hersheypark Stadium). All tour dates appear below, along with ticket information.
Meghan Trainor will be the opening act on all dates, while neo-soul vocal dynamo Leon Bridges will be added for the stadium shows.
The tour, at least for now, does not have a formal title. This may reflect the fact that Maroon 5 does not have a new album to promote, although that could perhaps change between now and the tour’s start or completion.
If not, the band — which headlined the 2019 Super Bowl half time show in Atlanta in February — will likely focus almost entirely on past hits, of which it has many from which to choose. To date, the group has achieved worldwide album sales of more than 56 million and had a slew of chart-topping singles.
Tickets for the tour will go on sale to the general public on Dec. 13 at livenation.com and ticketmaster.com. Ticket prices for the May 30 tour-opening show in Chula Vista range from $39.50 to $149.50 each, plus service charges.
A pre-sale for American Express and Citi card members will take place “in select” (and, for now, unspecified) markets, from noon local time Monday until 10 p.m. local time on Dec. 12.
