Nick Cannon is getting his own daytime talk show
Former San Diegan Nick Cannon is on a roll. The comedian/entertainer/entrepreneur currently hosts “The Masked Singer” series on Fox where contestants try to guess the identity of costumed celebrities by their voices.
News just came that the former “America’s Got Talent” emcee is about to debut a daytime talk show.
“I’ve always dreamed of a platform where I can speak to America and discuss pop culture, as well as the topics on everyone’s minds,” Cannon said when his show was announced this week. He found his talk voice while filling in as a guest host for his friend Wendy Williams while she took a break from The Wendy Williams Show.
Cannon made an appearance in his native San Diego last December at the opening of the upscale cinema and dining complex in the Gaslamp Quarter — the San Diego Theatre Box and Sugar Factory American Brasserie.
Future Theatre Box plans were announced to create a 14,000-square-foot rooftop sports bar and arcade based on the comedy and improv theme of Cannon’s “Wild ‘N Out” series on MTV. It will include super large televisions, interactive games and memorabilia from the show.
“A monthly DJ appearance from Cannon will be complemented by various celebrity guests, comedy shows and the ‘Wild ‘N Out Girls,” the online promotion states. Despite mention of a “late summer” debut, no opening date has been announced as yet.
