JuneShine and Stone Brewing team up for new flavor, StoneShine

The hard kombucha is a seasonal release, featuring Stone’s hops and stone fruits from Masumoto Farm
If you’re a dedicated beer drinker hesitant to try hard kombucha, say hello to StoneShine.
StoneShine is a hard kombucha born out of a collaboration between two San Diego brewers: JuneShine Hard Kombucha and Stone Brewing. The seasonal release mixes Stone’s hops and stone fruits from Masumoto Farm into JuneShine’s hard kombucha formulation.
Though hard kombucha and beer have many similarities, one of the major differences is that hard kombucha is naturally gluten free. At 6% ABV, StoneShine also includes probiotics, antioxidants and vitamins.
Five percent of StoneShine’s sales will be donated to US Bartenders Guild National Charity Foundation, which provides support — such as programs, education and grants — to advance the health and well-being of individuals working in the service industry.

San Diego-founded brewers JuneShine and Stone Brewing are both neighbors and friends. Greg Serrao, CEO and co-founder of JuneShine, shared that Stone Brewing has largely influenced his company’s vision and operations.
“Stone has inspired us from day 1 with their unwavering dedication to brewing the best craft beer,” Serrao said in a press release. “So much of our dedication to quality comes from their leadership in our backyard in San Diego.”
“We want to break down the preconceived conceptions of what people think hard kombucha is with this collab, and show people that JuneShine is truly a craft brew and not another FMB (flavored malt beverage),” he continued.
“This collaboration demonstrates how similar hard kombucha and craft beer can be, and offers a really unique flavor profile that can’t be found in craft beer collaborations alone,” Stone Brewing’s Chief Commercial Officer Dan Lamb added.

Stone Brewing is the ninth largest craft brewer in the country, with nine locations including Escondido, Oceanside, Liberty Station and downtown. JuneShine, which opened in June 2018, has tastings rooms in North Park and Scripps Ranch.
For a limited time, StoneShine is available for pickup at JuneShine’s two locations, as well as offered at various stores and through direct delivery. Each 16 ounce can is priced at $5.99. Visit juneshine.com for more information.
