Got mac? Fifth annual fest comes complete with an abundance of cheese

The 21-and-older showdown features unlimited mac and cheese samples, beer tastings and more

Leave your carb counting at the gate and dive into bubbling gooey dishes of creamy cheese and pasta at the San Diego Mac n’ Cheese Fest on Saturday at Waterfront Park. The cook-off features 20 top regional restaurants competing to see who makes the best gourmet mac and cheese. Will reigning champs Viewpoint Brewing Co. (Best Gourmet Mac n’ Cheese) and Stacked: Food Well Built (People’s Choice) retain their titles? You and a panel of expert judges will decide. The 21-and-older showdown also includes 20 craft breweries, wines and ciders. Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the World Wide Network of Learning.
