Cheers your beer steins at these Oktoberfest celebrations throughout the county

From La Mesa to Carlsbad, here are four events in San Diego to get your pint on this Oktoberfest season.

9.27-29 and 10.4-6: Oktoberfest in El Cajon

Do the chicken dance, sing time-honored tunes, and tantalize your taste buds with authentic German eats during two fun-filled weekends featuring a ceremonial keg tap, the crowning of the Oktoberfest queen and a raffle for a flight to the Fatherland.

10.4-6: 46th annual La Mesa Oktoberfest

Billed as the largest Oktoberfest bash west of the Mississippi, this free, three-day event attracts more than 100,000 attendees and boasts live local music, traditional German dishes and plenty of Bavarian bier along with sing-a-longs, stein races and oodles of other games.

10.5: Carlsbad Rotary Oktoberfest

Dig out your finest German attire as North County’s long-running Oktoberfest returns for another year of costume contests, ice-cold beer, music, meals and more.

10.11-12: OB Oktoberfest

Toss a sausage, gorge on bratwurst or dare to do “Das Booty Flip” as Bavaria takes over Ocean Beach for a weekend full of beer, live music, costume contests and tons of crazy challenges.
