Food has a way of bringing people together, and the community of City Heights will be doing just that as it welcomes visitors to experience its rich and diverse culture at its inaugural Street Food Fest today. Between 300 and 500 people are expected to attend the family-oriented gathering that features beer and wine and food from all over the world, including Cambodian-Lao fusion, Mexican, Korean and Southern-style barbecue. Award-winning band The Lyrical Groove will entertain the crowd with a spoken-word performance that is self-described as “a spoken soul, jazz, hip-hop, live music experience.” City Heights graffiti and mixed-media artist Siks will create live art around the theme of community. The event is sponsored by the City Heights Community Development Corporation.
