PlumpJack wines to headline Icon Wine dinners at Del Frisco’s across the U. S.

The celebrated wines of PlumpJack, Cade and Odette will be featured at a five-course pairing dinner at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse in San Diego, L.A., New York, Las Vegas and beyond

The word icon gets thrown around a lot, but when it comes to PlumpJack wines, it fits.

The prestigious Napa winery was the first to sell a $100-plus cabernet sauvignon in a bottle with a screw cap, its 2015 reserve cab scored 100 coveted points from critic Robert Parker and then there’s its celebrity origin story.

PlumpJack was founded by Gavin Newsom — before he was San Francisco mayor or California’s governor.

Next Thursday, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse will host five-course wine dinners featuring PlumpJack Group’s portfolio of wines (PlumpJack, Cade Estate, Odette Estate) at its 16 locations across the country.

Each Icon Wine dinner features a winery representative; San Diego will get a visit from Cade’s winemaker Danielle Cyrot. Among the courses will be seared jumbo scallops and Santa Barbara uni with 2017 PlumpJack reserve chardonnay and hickory smoked sea salt rubbed roasted prime New York steak, with the 2016 Cade cabernet (Howell Mountain) and the 2016 Odette cab (Stag’s Leap).
