JuneShine’s future shines bright with Scripps Ranch opening

Share

North Park has a lot of breweries, but JuneShine is not quite like the rest. El Cajon Boulevard’s trendy tasting room, which opened last June, pours a different type of draft: organic hard kombucha.

This month, the local business will expand beyond its Uptown roots and bring its unique brews up to Scripps Ranch. Dubbed JuneShine Ranch, the new location — which previously housed Ballast Point Brewing Company — will serve as the hard kombucha company’s second production facility and tasting room.

Though only open a year, JuneShine has already expanded distribution outside of San Diego to cities in the Pacific Northwest and Northern California, necessitating a larger production facility. And JuneShine’s new 1,700-square-foot tasting room will allow even more locals to sip hard kombucha in person as the brand continues to gain popularity.

The second tasting room boasts an impressive 52 tap bar serving the brightly colored brews JuneShine is known for. As for décor, JuneShine teamed up with San Diego designer Solstice Interiors to create a community gathering space with a bohemian style, characterized by bright white walls and natural accents in an open, airy environment.

Exclusive to the Scripps Ranch location is Enclave, a kitchen slated to open in August. It will feature a wide range of health-conscious dishes including gluten-free Korean fried chicken wings and turmeric ginger bone broth paired with local vegetables. When the kitchen debuts, JuneShine also plans to launch an expanded alcohol menu featuring a selection of wine, craft beer, sake and mead.

JuneShine Ranch’s grand opening party is scheduled for 2-9 p.m. on Saturday, June 15 in Scripps Ranch. Fifteen beers will be served on tap, accompanied by live music and food trucks.

Plus, celebrate JuneShine’s birthday at the event by indulging in Passion, its one-year-anniversary beer made with passionfruit, lemongrass and butterfly-pea flower, which will only be served at the Scripps Ranch location. The bright-blue drink will be available on draft or in cans, the latter of which have been designed by artist Jonny Alexander.

11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, JuneShine Ranch, 10051 Old Grove Rd., Scripps Ranch, juneshine.co
