Primavera Ristorante hosts 30-year anniversary dinner in Coronado

Share

Primavera Ristorante may be three decades old, but the San Diego restaurant isn’t out of its prime yet.

Husband-wife duo Cristos and Jeannette Stavros opened the fine-dining Italian restaurant back in 1989. The Coronado establishment was characterized by upscale décor and its Northern Italian-inspired dishes, served by tuxedo-clad waiters.

The couple’s daughter, Denise, now serves as the restaurant’s general manager. Cristos passed away in 2014, but Jeannette is still very involved in the family-owned and operated business.

Denise and Jeannette now balance the fine line between traditional and contemporary styles at the award-winning restaurant. In recent years, they debuted additional menu items, updated the décor, axed the tuxedos and launched themed evenings like “Martini Mondays” and “Date Night” on Thursdays.

On June 25, Primavera honors its legacy and looks to the future with a 30-year anniversary event featuring a special menu.

The evening starts off with a celebratory glass of Italian Prosecco, followed by a five-course meal.

Choose from five dishes off the sectioned menu, which boasts 13 items total. Options include Calamari Luciana, Insalata Caprese, Tagliatelle Adriactico, Pollo Campagnola and Tiramisu, among others.

Cost is $85 per person, plus beverages. A portion of the proceeds will benefit 22KILL, a nonprofit that raises awareness of veteran suicide, as well as offers resources to veterans, first responders and their families.
