Ho: For this jolly event, you don’t need a trained voice or a great memory. All the selections are seasonal greatest hits, and the pub supplies handouts with each song’s lyrics. And everyone sounds mellow after a pint.

Ho: Wear holiday attire. Or don’t. Your choice. But, really, you’ll have more fun if you show up in something merry and bright.

Know: The Dec. 17 festivities run from 7 to 8 p.m. Come early for a seat — O’Brien’s is often crowded, and the pub will make room for a violinist, cellist and guitarist.

Pro tip: There will be holiday beers on tap, but don’t overlook the bottle list. O’Brien’s inventory is among the county’s deepest, and among its jewels are numerous domestic and imported holiday brews.
