Why: With State’s fall semester starting this month, Temecula’s Black Market hopes to tap a new class of fans at a recently opened College Area brewpub. Due to its relatively low alcohol content, this coconut and lime blonde ale is made for late-night cram sessions.

About that name: Deception isn’t fooling anyone. Both the coconut and the lime are obvious, and obviously pleasing, from the first sip.

Geek out: 4.5 percent alcohol by volume, 16.3 international bittering units, Czech Saaz hops, pilsner and Munich malts.

Seek out: Deception is on tap and in cans at the brewpub, which dominates the corner of El Cajon Boulevard and Art Street.
