Cheers to six years with Saint Archer Brewing Co.

This weekend, brew aficionados are invited to hop on over to a party in Beeramar.

Miramar-based Saint Archer Brewing Co. is celebrating its six-year anniversary with a party for the people who made it all happen: the customers. On May 18, the brewery welcomes the public to a free event to ring in the milestone, featuring music, food and of course, beer.

The San Diego-based brewery — who also opened up a tasting room in Leucadia last year — is well-known for its original Blonde Ale, along with other core flavors: White Ale, Pale Ale and Mosaic IPA.

These beers, and nearly all of the others on draft, will be $5 during the event. (The brewery’s newly introduced Tusk & Grain barrel-aged styles will have a slightly higher price tag.)

The $5 menu also includes Saint Archer’s sixth anniversary specialty beer, the “SA 6th Anniversary Hazy Rye IPA” with Galaxy Hops. The exclusive release will only be served that day, so stop by to get it while it’s cold.

A party isn’t complete without something to snack on. From tacos to dessert, pair the drinks with bites from three different food trucks: Tacos El Mango, Dixie Pops and Raw Poke.

Starting at around 5 p.m., the evening crowd can rock out to tunes from two local music acts: “groovy rock ‘n’ soul” group The Anodynes, followed by “fuzz rock and psychedelic” band The Schizophonics. Headliner King Tuff, a recording artist with a mixed sound of garage rock and indie pop, will close out the evening as party-goers close out their tabs.

Beer enthusiasts and trivia buffs who want to learn more about the business can also participate in a “self-guided tour” of the facility. A portion of the brewery will be roped off and decorated with Saint Archer facts and figures — encouraging visitors to reflect on the history behind the bottles, and the reason why everyone is gathered in the first place.
