Beef, bacon burgers heading for grocery store
The pick: Slater’s 50/50 Beef & Bacon Burgers
Why they rate: Bacon lovers, take note! Slater’s 50/50, a small restaurant chain in San Diego and Orange counties, is known for its patented burger that’s 50 percent beef and 50 percent bacon. Now the San Diego-based Jensen Meat Company has been licensed to bring Slater’s 50/50 burger patties to grocery stores. The frozen patties will be offered in 2- and 4-pound packages with six or 12 individually quick-frozen 1/3-pound handmade-style patties.
Info: A 4-pound package with 12 patties sells for $15.98. The burger patties are currently available at Sam’s Clubs in Southern California, including San Diego, and will be available at other outlets in the near future.
