Salt & Straw debuts its January 'Vegandulgence' ice cream flavor series

Salt & Straw — the family run, small-batch ice cream company — debuted a limited-time “Vegandulgence” flavor series menu this month. Created by co-founder and head ice-cream maker Tyler Malek, the menu features five flavors: Toasted Coconut Chocolate Chip Cookies, Elvis’ Peanut Butter Banana Split, Candied Apricot Faux-yo, Aquafaba (the liquid in a can of chickpeas) Marshmallow Oatmeal Moon Pies, and Heidi Ho’s Lemon Cheesecake. The flavors are infused with artisanal ingredients such as gluten-free salted chocolate chip cookies, aquafaba marshmallow filling, Heidi Ho’s cashew Ne Chèvre cheese, peanut butter “bacon” butter, cashew butter and candied apricots. The series is available through Jan. 31 at the Little Italy shop and through Postmates, an online delivery service.
