Would you eat a Krispy Kreme bacon hot dog?
Chicken Charlie (of San Diego County Fair fame), you have some competition -- introducing, the Krispy Kreme Doughnut Dog.
The Wilmington Blue Rocks, a single-A affiliate of the reigning American League champion Kansas City Royals, have partnered with Krispy Kreme to give baseball fans at Frawley Stadium the ultimate heart-stopping snack.
A hot dog wrapped in a traditional Krispy Kreme glazed doughnut, the Krispy Kreme Doughnut Dog also comes with bacon and raspberry jelly drizzled on top.
“The Blue Rocks are always looking for new ways to please our fans, and we think this is certainly going to accomplish that,” said Blue Rocks Director of Advertising Sales Brian Radle in a statement. “Krispy Kreme doughnuts and ballpark hot dogs are two of America’s favorite treats, so why not combine them?”
The team is asking fans to name the concoction at BlueRocks.com, so far, entries include The Diabeetus Dog, Ground-rule Double Bypass Donut Dog, and the Cardiac Dog.
Personally, I’m a fan of The 7th Inning leave-the-game-on-a-STRETCHer.
Play ball!
