Where to watch the Oscars this Sunday

On Sunday, Feb. 22, the 87th Annual Academy Awards will roll out the red carpet for the best and brightest stars in Hollywood. Besides the comfort of your own couch, there are a couple of local parties to attend to catch all the glamorous action.

At Wang’s North Park, the San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus Red Carpet Party starts at 4 p.m. A ticket in includes a buffet dinner, champagne, raffles, $500 in cash for a ballet contest and performances from the San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus. Guests can walk the red carpet and watch the Academy Awards on numerous screens throughout the restaurant. Tickets are $35 per person.

Over in Coronado, the Coronado Island Film Festival will host their own Red Carpet Oscar Party, complete with pub food favorites and a champagne toast at Nicky Rottens. The restaurant has 14 HD TVs and three projector screens to catch all of the glitz, while guests enjoy photo opps with “Marilyn Monroe.” Tickets are $50 per person.
