San Diego’s favorite neighborhood delivers yet again by bringing together the best chefs and cuisines in what promises to be a food lover’s dream afternoon during the 15th annual Taste of Hillcrest .
From noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 18, foodies can tantalize their taste buds while indulging in exotic flavors and delectable dishes from over 30 participating restaurants during this self-guided tour.
“We are very excited to be celebrating our 15th annual Taste of Hillcrest event,” said Hillcrest Business Association Executive Director Benjamin Nicholls. “This is the perfect place to be on a Saturday afternoon with friends while dining at some of the best restaurants in San Diego’s most fabulous neighborhood.”
The event is a favorite of both locals and out-of-town guests. Yelp reviewers of previous Taste of Hillcrest events rave about the experience, with one reviewer calling it “THE taste event of all taste events.”
Spanning more than 12 blocks, participants are able to experience dishes from all over the world from a selection of cafes, bistros and five-star restaurants. Participating restaurants include 7th Avenue Pub at Whole Foods Market, 100 Wines + Kitchen, Au Revoir French Bistro, BabyCakes, Baja Betty’s, Bearito Republic, Bombay Exotic, Fiesta Cantina, Lotus Thai and more. Event attendees are advised to save room for beverages and refined desserts, with thirst-quenching options from local breweries and savory sweets from some of the participating restaurants.
Tickets for this year’s event are $30 in advance and $35 the day of the event. All proceeds will benefit the Hillcrest Business Association. Tickets are available online or by calling 619-299-3330.
Registration for this year’s event begins at 11 a.m. and will be held at two different locations. The first location is in the Rite Aid Pharmacy parking lot at 535 Robinson Ave., and the second location is the Gossip Grill at 1220 University Ave. Visitors should stop by the registration booth at either location to pick up their Taste of Hillcrest hard copy ticket and event map.
