Sustainable Sundays: Brunch at The Rocket
Whether you are looking for a cure for your hangover from last night’s rowdiness or you are seeking a relaxing morning with friends and loved ones, Sunday brunch is a must. We have heard time and time again that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so you don’t want to start your day off on the wrong foot. With so many restaurants in San Diego, it can be hard to keep caught up on the ever-changing menus and brunch parties around town. Luckily, you have us to keep you in the loop.
Sea Rocket is located in North Park and is proud to create organic dishes with ingredients from our local land and waters. Recently, they have broken into the weekend brunch scene and launched Sustainable Summer Sundays: Brunch at The Rocket.
Executive Chef Chad White prepares everything from moked cod potato cakes with yellowtail belly gravlax, to tasty bacon jam and the Chef’s Whim “bomb omelet” otherwise known as a “bomblet.” He also serves up seafood dishes made with fresh ingredients from local fisherman and burgers created from California beef. If seafood and meat are not your forte, nosh on French Toast or Belgian Waffles.
Brunch just wouldn’t be the same without cocktails to accompany your meal. Choose from favorites like Bloody Marys, Strawberry Mojitos, or their special “Muddled” which is a concoction of agave wine, mint or basil, soda and garnished with a lime. They also have a “Sake To Ya” menu for those of you craving some Japanese flavor. Go for a shot, sake and juice combo, or one of their signature drinks such as the “North Park Sunrise” that mixes agave wine, Evolution OJ, and cranberry juice. There is also the traditional beer, wine, and Sangria menu if you prefer the more conventional route.
Dig In: New Sustainable Summer Sundays take place from 10am to 3pm on, of course, Sunday. Prices range from about $10 to $20 dollars an entrée. For more information, visit Sea Rocket in North Park.
