Local chefs and musicians unite to create one hell-of-a-unique dinner experience at SoundBite on Monday, Nov. 2. The 13th installment of the series will be taking over The Cork and Craft in Rancho Bernardo from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
If you aren’t familiar with SoundBite, it is essentially a night of local food and local music joining together for an out-of-the-box pairing unlike the traditional pairings you may be accustom to. The selected chefs for each SoundBite event listen to the tracks of the featured local artists before the event, while they think up some imaginative dishes for the public to enjoy. The song-inspired courses are then served to attendees as the artists of the corresponding songs perform their music live during the dinner.
This month’s event will feature music from Parker & The Numberman, a San Diego-based hip-hop group known for their exploratory and quirky style.
The cohesive meaning of this five-course, artisan meal is to combine the different styles of art and show how they can influence one another. The talented chefs will explain their process of inspiration and what led them to create each distinctive meal. Drink pairings from Abnormal Brewing Co. will also be available.
This event will feature multiple chefs from around San Diego including SoundBite founder, Chef Nick Brune of Eco Eaters. Other chefs cooking up dishes will include Cork and Craft’s Chef Phil Esteban and Tony Guan, as well as Chef Alex Emery of The Hilton Hotel San Diego Bayfront.
Tickets are $65 for general admission; $80 with beer pairings and can be purchased at brownpapertickets.com.
