Poke It, a new fast-casual eatery offering a Mexican take on poke will host its grand opening in Hillcrest from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.
Using the most freshest ingredients, Tijuana-born chef Julio Rodriguez’s (Banyan Tree Resort, Playa del Carmen and Navio Seafood & Drinks, Tijuana) menu features a customizable lineup of tacos, burritos and bowls, plus tostadas and burgers made with a crispy rice base.
Cali-Baja flavors are infused in a range of proteins, including salmon, chicken, tuna and rib eye. Guests will also find sake, beer, fresh aqua frescas and soft drinks.
To celebrate its entry into the neighborhood, the eatery has teamed up with the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department’s newly remodeled Station No. 5 to host the grand-opening event.
Guests can try an exclusive Station No. 5 menu item created by local firefighter heroes. The all-day party will also serve as a fundraiser for the San Diego Fire-Rescue Foundation.
